The product comes in a glass vial with a pump dispenser. Much as I like this product, the packaging is terrible. It is fairly sturdy and doesn’t leak or anything but the pump dispenses way too much product! Considering that this is a high coverage concealer and the tiniest amount is needed for the eyes, the pump dispenses one giant drop of it even when I am very careful to use very little pressure and don’t dispense the pump all the way down. As a result, I end up wasting product every time I use it.

I wish it came with a doe foot applicator instead like the or a simple squeeze tube like the Select Cover up. A small amount of product gives plenty of coverage (medium to full) and it dries down to a matte finish. Once ‘set’ it doesn’t budge and stays put for an easy 12 hours. Every time I use this, I’m amazed by how little I need to cover up my eye area (lid+ under eye) as well as discolorations around the face – nose, mouth, blemishes. It blends with little effort and I generally use either my fingers or a MAC 217 brush to apply this.

Since I use concealer on the eye lid most times, I’m really happy that the formula is matte and not creamy. Creamy concealers cause premature creasing of eye shadows.

The only downside of the formula is that its quite drying and has a matte finish. So while it is long lasting, it might not be the best choice for those with a lot of dryness OR a lot of lines/wrinkles. I’ve noticed that it can settle a little bit onto lines (I have a few near the inner corner) especially if the eye area is dry. The good thing though is that it settles into lines as soon as you apply it IF there is a lot of dryness and if it doesn’t crease then, you can be sure it won’t crease or budge at all few hours afterwards.

Since it dries down to a matte, budge proof finish, you don’t necessarily need to powder on top to set it but its always a good idea to lightly set it with powder. Since its nearly waterproof, you need an cream/oil based product or an eye makeup remover to remove it. If you’re someone with oily eye area and heavy pigmentation, you would really like this one. If you’re someone prone to a lot of dryness or have a lot of wrinkles/lines around the eyes, I won’t recommend this for you. I was matched with the shade NC42 which is absolutely perfect for me! It is yellow toned, doesn’t have much orangey tones which is what I need.

I have moderate under eye pigmentation and while just foundation takes care of that about 60-70%, the use of concealer gives that perfectly flawless look. It brightens up my eye area quite nicely and works great over spots/blemishes as well. The most important thing about a concealer is that it should match your skin tone, otherwise the whole purpose of using it is defeated! Sometimes slight mismatch in tone can be corrected by layering foundation over it but not always.

The fluid formula gives excellent coverage and sets into a budge proof finish post application.

A small amount goes a long way and it is very easy to blend as well. Women prone to dryness around the eyes may not find this the best finish for them but it does work if you moisturize before application. NC42 is the perfect match for me and I would have happily given it a 5/5 if the packaging didn’t lead to so much wastage! But if you want to skip that extra step, you could try something like Lakme Absolute Mattreal Mousse – it contains silicones which is one of the ingredients in most primers.

It controls oil and wears quite long. I’ve also found that mixing Clinique Moisture Surge gel cream keeps my skin hydrated and there is lesser oil production along the T-zone. You could also try MAC Oil control lotion – just mix it a little bit in your foundation or apply it on the oily regions before foundation. And don’t forget to powder your face properly. Keep a face mist like The Body Shop Vitamin E face mist in office as the AC tends to dehydrate the skin and spritz it on your face every couple of hours.
