I have a Dell computer about 6 years old i bought through Amazon that works perfectly. Never a single problem with it. But a while back my monitor was flashing and going black and over time it got worse. I would smack the back of the screen and it would go back to normal but than it went out altogether at Easter time. I could of took a free monitor the same age for free but when i hooked it up i couldnt stand the screen and resolution and stuff. And so i chose to pay around $100 for this screen including shipping because of how comfortable i have been with this screen.
And they gave me the same screen and its working perfectly good. I would rather pay for a screen that i am cofortable with than to have one for free thats how good this screen is. And like i said my whole computer works perfect so far.
No viruses, no lock ups or anything. Sometimes if i hit the wrong button and mess something up i just put the computer back a few days and it erases what i did. Like if you accidenly somehow hit something that makes your letters smaller just go to my computer and hit on the set back in time whatever its called and it will erase the mistake you did.
But if you want a older screen to go with your monitor this one is perfect. I bought this for a secondary monitor for my laptop and I am very pleased with it! It is a nice size and the standard factory color mix looks good.
The screen also looks very sharp! Now this is no Samsung TV or anything, but there is no blurriness or fuzziness with the resolution of this screen. Be advised that I bought this used. But the screen is slightly darker than my laptop screen. And on startup it takes a few seconds for the screen to reach its full brightness.
Overall, a great screen for the price! My wife's 4 year old old Dell monitor's color display had 'faded' and was looking anemic. We figured it was on its way out.

Based on strong Amazon.com reader's reviews, and because of the very reasonable $39.00 price, I ordered the used Dell E176FP 17' Monitor from Coaster TV. It arrived quickly as estimated.
My only complaint was the packaging. One main flap of the cardboard box the monitor came in was loose and flapping. (More and better taping please!) Beyond that, however, after I hooked the monitor to my wife's Inspiron 530 (very quick and easy to do), I turned it on.
The monitor lit right up. It self adjusted (colors and resolution). I was impressed with its strong colors, espcially the rich strong blues, and my wife couldn't be happier. If my old Viewsonic were to go bad, I would order another one of these used Dell monitors without hesitation. I ordered it and got an expected delivery date of between the 11th and the 17th. I got it on the 9th! I plugged it into the computer and for the first time and nothing.
Got right through to a human who gave me to a tech (no hold, no wait) who asked a simple question, 'Did you restart the computer after installing it?' Quite embarrassed at that point I admitted I had not. (In my defense it had been a REALLY long week so far! Lol.) Restarted, it came up, and it is BEAUTIFUL!
