The Honda Sport Award has been presented annually by the CWSA for the past 42 years to the top women athletes in 12 NCAA- sanctioned sports and signifies “the best of the best in collegiate athletics”. The winner of the sport award becomes a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the prestigious 2018 Honda Cup which will be presented on a live telecast on CBS Sports Network on Monday, June 25, 2018, in downtown Los, Angeles. The nominees were chosen a panel of coaches representing the United Soccer Coaches (USC). The Honda Sport award winner for soccer will be announced next week after voting by administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools.

Each NCAA member institution has a vote. Dorsey, a senior Forward/Midfielder from Elkridge, Md., was named the 2017 ACC Offensive Player of the Year and led the Blue Devils to a perfect 10-0 slate en route to the ACC regular season title and an appearance in the 2017 College Cup. She is a USC first-team All-American and All-ACC first-team honoree after leading her team with 14 goals and 38 points. Her team led the ACC in four offensive team categories while she finished her career ranked in the program’s top 10 in four offensive stats.

Sophomore Jessie Fleming hails from London, Ontario, Canada, and was named a 2017 MAC Hermann Trophy finalist as the first underclassman named a finalist since 2011. She led her team to the Championship game of the College Cup and earned College Cup All-Tournament team honors. The midfielder is a first-team USC All-American and a two-time first-team All-West Region and All-Pac-12 honoree. A member of the Canadian Women’s National Team, she finished her second consecutive year scoring 20 or more points in a season. McCaskill is a two-time Honda Award nominee for Soccer after being on the ballot last season.

The senior forward from Chapin, S.C., is her program’s first MAC Hermann Trophy finalist and is a two-time first-team USC All-American. The two-time SEC Offensive Player of the Year led her team to its second-straight SEC regular season title and program's first appearance in Women's College Cup.

She netted eight goals and added a SEC-leading nine assists earning All-SEC first-team honors for the third straight year. A native of Lorton, Va., Sullivan is at two-time MAC Hermann Trophy finalist and led Stanford to the 2017 National Championship title. The 2017 Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year was also named the Senior CLASS Award winner and is a three-time USC All-American. A senior midfielder, she is a four-time All-Pac-12 and All-Pacific Region selection and a member of the U.S. National Team. She posted 20 career goals, 19 assists and eight game-winning goals in her career. Honda Sport Award winners will be presented with the honor during on-campus presentations throughout the year and all Honda Sport Award winners become a finalist for the prestigious 2018 Honda Cup award presented in June.

The CWSA, celebrating its 42nd year, has honored the nation’s top NCAA women athletes for their superior athletic skills, leadership, academic excellence and eagerness to participate in community service. Since commencing its sponsorship in 1986, Honda has provided more than $3.1 million in institutional grants to the universities of the award winners and nominees to support women’s athletics programs.
