Honestly, before Robert Downey Jr. Made Iron Man the household name that it is today, I never really liked this super hero. Blame Cartoon Network. The animated series was just so boring and monotonous that I would always flip the channel. But now things have changed, thanks to the movie series and the superb performances of Robert. So if you too are a Robert Downey Jr.

Tony Stark really does make the Avengers look cool. Photo: Marvel Studios Tony Stark isn’t just Iron Man — he’s The Avengers’ own personal Jony Ive. “He’s the boss,” says Stark (referring to Captain America) in the new TV spot for The Avengers: Age of Ultron. “I just pay for everything and design everything make everyone look cooler.” While Ive doesn’t pay for everything at Apple, the rest of that self-confident self-description sounds a lot like Cupertino’s design guru. Each of billionaire inventor Tony Stark’s creations is better and more feature-packed than the last. There’s a sleekness to his Iron Man armors that has been refined over time as he iterates on the original design.

Just like Ive, Tony Stark values good looks (remember the great line, “” from the original Iron Man movie?). Assistant, J.A.R.V.I.S., is what Ive undoubtedly wants Siri to be.

And Tony Stark, who’s portrayed so brilliantly by in Marvel’s films, even produced a bigger-than-big version of his Iron Man armor. The awesome new Hulkbuster model, which you get an eyeful of in the new TV spot, is the Iron Man equivalent of an iPhone 6 Plus.

More than just Iron Man There’s more than Tony Stark’s boastful banter in the new teaser, though. Gone is the dark, brooding tone of earlier Age of Ultron trailers. Instead, this TV spot is loaded with everything you want in an Avengers movie: snappy one-liners, plenty of good old-fashioned superhero smackdowns and cool peeks at Stark’s latest inventions. (What the heck are those Wolverine-looking retractable blades, anyway?) The movie, which premieres May 1, reunites the Avengers team — Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hulk, Thor and Hawkeye — and brings Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver fully in the the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Want more on before it hits theaters? Check out the semi-spoilery interview with director below, in which he drops a few surprises. He promises there will be plenty of squabbling among the Avengers’ ranks — and a surprise appearance from at least one Marvel superhero who hasn’t already been seen in press materials. (Could we get that?).
